You have to read Henry's shirt to figure out the "Big News!"

Yes, you read the shirt right; Henry is going to be a big brother!!!!!

We had our 1st Dr. appointment today, I am exactly 9 weeks and due May 4th!!! I have known since late August, just wanted to know for sure and I just couldn't wait any longer to share the news!! We are very excited and Yes, this was planned. Henry is very excited about being a big brother and has some very funny questions. Today he asked, "is the baby in you leg?" We will continue to keep you updated on Baby Bente #2!! We are hoping, hoping, I mean really hoping for a girl, so think GIRL!!! Ha! Here is today's ultrasound picture for anyone who is talented enough to make out the baby!!! I put the picture upside down, the head is at top and it is a frontal view.

We survived Hurricane Ike!!!!

1. WE HAVE POWER!!!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO I never imagine being without power being so challenging. It came at a good time, I was really feeling down about not having electricity. We went to my mom's for a warm shower and then to dinner. When we got home and realized that we did have power, I literally burst into tears. I know a little dramatic, but geez, it was miserable without power. I feel for anyone who still does not have power and pray they will have electricity soon. I figured I would give a little peek of what we saw around our house.

Friday evening, before IKE...

The wind was picking up...

We boarded up and bunkered down...

The calm before the storm...

Saturday, The morning of Hurrican Ike...
Mainly a lot of trees down.

Our road...

Our backyard fence...

Our other fence.

Cleaning up: We had a bonfire for the debree of Ike!

We roasted marshmallows...

Hung out with good friends...

And just tried to make the best of our week and 2 days without power...
**If you want to hear the video, just push the pause button on the playlist!

A glimpse of Ike (though it gives the wind and rain NO justice)

Have a nice week!!

Hurrican Ike

Augggg! How I miss civilization. I have never been without power this long as far as I can actually remember. I know they are working hard, but blah. This sucks!! Thank goodness that my Mom has power, we can at least come in and take a hot shower. Thankfully Magnolia ISD is being considerate and we are not working through Monday so far. I just cannot imagine having to work with no power and to leave from my Mom's, I would have to leave like 4:30 in the morning, I just do not function at that time. Plus the sitter does not have power, so I would have a new student in class. Ha! We would not get much accomplished. All in all we came out with minimal damage, just a lot of limbs and a tree in the pasture. Our poor neighbors were not as fortunate, so I am counting my blessings. We have a generator so we can have water, a fan, and watch a little TV. Thankfully the weather has been great so we are not frying. Our zip code was on the TV for the end of the day today, but looking around I think we are going to be in the 20% that will not have their power restored today. *tear* This experience has definitely made me appreciate electricity on a completely different level. I never want to be without it for more than a few hours again!!! I told John, I don't care how much it cost, I want one of those big mama's that run on natural gas and can run your entire house. That's right. I don't care. This is not fun and it gets really boring. I just cannot wait until everything is back to normal again, even driving around is a pain. Okay, I will stop complaining. I just had some time to get on Mom's computer and let everyone know we are okay, just no power, so I am not able to update the blog, like I normally would!! I hope that everyone in Houston made it out of IKE okay and I hope you have power!! For everyone else that was not in Ike's path, hope you never have to go through something like this. I could not imagine living in a place that this is common, I would soooooo move!!!! I promise next time I blog I will be in a better mood!!

A Nice Treat

We went into town to eat and return some movies and they had the Tomball Fire Department there with their ladder truck. Henry was so excited about seeing the firetruck, but then of course as soon as we got close enough; he started having second thoughts. Typical.

Paw-Paw giving him a tour...

Being silly in the moon-jump...

Blog you soon!

It has been awhile.

Sorry it has been awhile. I went back to work and that was it. I was trying to be so organized and ready for the first day of school, that I have barely taken any pictures. I am in my second week of school, I am teaching all juniors this year; which I am truly excited about. I believe that is where I belong. Henry is doing well at his sitters, there are about 4 of them that are around the same age and she says they play well together. Last year I started work at 8:50, this year, they changed it to 7:25, so the time change is taking a little bit of a toll on both of us, but I LOVE being out by 2:30, it is worth it!! We have not been up to much, just hanging out and relaxing on the weekends. We visited John's parents last weekend, it was a short visit, but a good one. We were suppose to get another dog, (I know we like we need another one) anyway, it was for a good cause. Regardless, he did not work out and we decided Outlaw is the best dog for our family at the moment, he is so patient with Henry, plays well, and is such a well-behaved dog. We could not of been any luckier.

Here is a picture of all the cousins...

I was making a PowerPoint for an introduction of myself to my students and I found some younger pictures of Henry, Awwww, he is growing so fast. Here are some younger pictures of Henry...

Playing in the rain! (This one actually won a contest and was put in a photography book) Look at those cheeks!!!

My Little Froggy..

Hopefully this will hold all of you over. I promise I will be blogging soon. ;)
