Birthdays & Christmas

We had a fairly busy weekend. Friday was my Dad's birthday and Saturday was My mom's side of the family Christmas Celebration. It was a fun-filled weekend; that pictures have to do the talking for...

Dad's Birthday: 12/19/2008

We had the trick candles on his cake: those things really do not blow out...

John made my Dad a pocketknife. He worked on it for weeks; making sure it was perfect. He was so nervous that he was not going to like it. I appreciate John's effort, because he did not have to do something like that. I think the knife turned out great!!! It looked like my dad really appreciated the gift (I hope he did), because John would of been crushed if he didn't!!

Flanders Family Christmas: 12/20/2008

Henry had a blast opening his gifts and he loved each and everyone. He has watched his Handy Manny DVD's too many times already, played his Thomas Game everytime he gets into the car, loved his Wall-e shirt, watched his movie from Grammy, and is ready to go shopping with his Christmas money!

All the 2nd cousins...

ALL the kids playing:

1st Annual Bente/Montgomery Gift Exchange: 12/20/2008
We had our close friends come over Saturday evening and we exchange gifts between the kiddos!!! Henry loved his Handy Manny tools set, he plays with it for hours!! We made homemade french fries and chewed on the burgers the guys attempted to grill for us. We made the mistake of letting the guys go to the store and buying the burgers and stuff. The list said "pre-made patties", well the pre-made stuff was frozen, so instead of JUST buying ground beef, they saw a package that said Sirloin cubed steaks, Woman's Mind: Oh, chicken fried steak steaks, not good burger meat. Man's Mind: COOL, ground up steak already made into BIG burgers. Ya, that is why I said we chewed on some burgers. That was about it, but we had a good laugh watching the guys determined to eat every last bite!!

All in all it was a great weekend and Henry is so excited about Christmas. Sorry about Christmas Cards, time just seem to slip away from me. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We love you all.

And the name will be...

Glitter Text Generator

We are very satisfied with this name, we feel Jayce is unique, yet strong. Robert comes from both of our beloved Grandfather's (Robert Wilson & A. Robert Flanders). I am really excited about the name we picked out and Henry says it sooooo cute!!! Here are the latest ultrasound pics: 20 weeks and 2 days

Front View

There is no mistake, It's a Boy!!

He is always sucking his thumb!!

I went through and researched color patterns for the baby room, there is so much to choose from, it is amazing how much changes in 3 1/2 years. There are so many more choices, just wish they would get it together on the boys clothes!!!

On another note here are a couple of cute pictures of Henry being Henry!!!!

Henry & Outlaw watching Blues Clues:

I have a DVD of the ultrasound, I will upload when I have more time, I have trouble uploading videos. Henry is really excited about Christmas, he is going to be so much fun to watch this year, plus this was the first year that he had no problem letting us kow what he wanted, so I am excited to see his reaction when he opens his presents!! Happy Holidays to all!!

It's a...

Its a boy Pictures, Images and Photos

I don't want anyone to think I am not happy or ungrateful for having a healthy baby, but I am going to be honest the ultrasound technician probably thought I was nuts. When she said the words with much enthusiasm, I burst into tears and was fighting a flood of tears the rest of the time I was in there, which means I could not talk. I think I knew all along that it was a boy, but I was relying on hope. I got my hopes up and I took this harder than I thought. I blaming it on hormones, I could not stop crying, it was ridiculous. I know what you are thinking, I can always try again, but that really is not an option for me, I am accepting my fate, which is a house full of boys. I feel better now, after I cried myself to sleep and took a nice nap. I found the positive in having two boys and I am coming to terms with never having my little girl. It just might sting for a few days, but the baby is very healthy the report today was good. Henry thought it was really cool to see the baby. He was the best, when the tech. saw that I was struggling she turned to Henry and said you are going to have a baby brother and even Henry said "but I want a girl", he kept asking me today if his baby brother was going to play with his cars. I told him yes, and he will just have to learn to share, he stated that it was okay, that he wanted a boy anyway. He was so sweet today, he handed me a tissue and played with my hair and told me it was okay!! He is such a sweetheart. I know he will be a wonderful big brother and I just pray that the two grow up to be close!! I will post ultrasound picks tomorrow or the next with the name that we are 99% sure we are going to go with.
XOXO

Not Me Monday

Okay, I am going to give this a try!!! A fellow blogger got this idea from a friend and I always look forward to reading her "Not Me Monday" this a humorous way to share those crazy moments in out lives, so I encourage you guys to try this to!!! I hope I get better at this, but I find it absolutley hilarious, because all of us are soooo perfect that we wouldn't have these moments, yet we do, every week!! Ha!! I hope you enjoy this and thank you Kristy, after reading several Not Me Mondays, I had to try!!!! :) Since being a Mom is a completely crazy process, it would be fun to share some of those I-never-thought-that-would-be-me moments!!! Here we go:
  • Last week while John was in Illinois, I DID NOT fall asleep before Henry. Henry DID NOT cut off his game and lamp on his own accord and crawl into bed with me and he DID NOT put himself to bed. What a sweet heart NOT taking care of his Mommy!!
  • I DID NOT forget to snap the buckle part of Henry’s car-seat and start driving down the road. Henry DID NOT realize that he was not properly buckled in and he DID NOT go into hysterics crying out “the cops are going to get me!”
  • Henry DID NOT pick his nose and then ask me what to do with the boogie and I certainly DID NOT respond “just wipe it on your pants!” Ewww!
  • I certainly DID NOT miss John terribly while he was away for work in Illinois almost all last week.
  • I DID NOT get all excited about our rare moment of snowfall and I DID NOT call my dad and bug him to wake up Henry from his much needed nap to go and play in the snow. Just for Henry to tell Paw-Paw that it was too cold and he wanted to go back inside!
  • I DID not have a Mint Chocolate Brownie from Starbucks for breakfast, when I constantly tell Henry no about candy for breakfast.
  • Henry did not come to me whining about a splinter in his finger and he not start crying when I mentioned that we should pull it out. So, I certainly did not respond to the whining by stating "Fine, don't come crying to me when your finger falls off." I certainly did not say that!!!!
  • Finally, I HAVE NOT been losing sleep over what gender this child inside of me is and I am certainly NOT obsessing and analyzing every single move that this kids makes and comparing “her” to Henry. Plus, I AM NOT ready for Wednesday, when I will FINALLY know what the heck I am having. It is NOT driving me crazy, no way, NOT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it is Sunday, but once the week starts, it is hard to blog, so My Not Monday, is posted on Sunday, it is the thought!!! :) Okay, everyone THINK GIRL THIS WEEK!!! We find out what are little one is on Wednesday!!!! XOXO

Beach Trip & Thanksgiving

Our Beach & Thanksgiving Trip went well. Henry is such a water baby!! If he had the choice we would live there! I will let the slide show do the talking!!

S.P.I., TX 2008

We had a nice Thanksgiving, considering John's dad had a fishing accident and had to make a trip to the hospital, though it was scarey, everything turned our fine in the end and we were all able to be together for Thanksgiving dinner. When unexpected things happen, makes you really realize how blessed you truly are. We were thankful that Hank was not hurt too terribly bad and thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving with John's family.

We also celebrated an early Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa Bente:

Henry loved his present!!!

Hope the Holiday spirit is kicking in, at least the weather seems to want to be cold, if we could stop this cold one day muggy the next!! Take care and be safe. XOXO
