@@@ Mummy Dogs & Pumpkin Carving @@@

Yesterday, {10/27}, was a very delightful evening for The Bente 4! John came home early and we enjoyed a family night together eating "Mummy Dogs" {thanks Kristy O.} and Pumpkin Carving. The pictures can tell the story much better than I can...

Before we start, it is Drug Free 100% Me week at school. Yesterday {Wednesday}, it was "Stomp Out Drug day, meaning wear boots. Here is the conversation before Wednesday.
Henry: "Mom, I REALLY want some cowboy boots to wear to school!"
Me: (after looking and having zero luck) "I can't find any, how about you wear rain boots, that would be so cool."
Henry: "I can't do that, it has to be cowboy boots..."

Being the determined mom that I am, I found some and could not believe the smile on Henry's face. {makes it all worth it}. The look John gave us when we got home was priceless, he just doesn't get this school stuff. After we bought the boots, Henry informed me that he needed a cowboy shirt as well. Of course. I put my mind to work and put an outfit together, I did not realize at the time, how adorable he was going to look. Tuesday evening I laid out the outfit for John and Henry, Wednesday morning I get a call from John. {It was so funny} He could not get over how cute and grown up Henry looked. I received praise for being a genius and everyone was happy. Boot day, a success.

@@@ On to the Halloween Pre-festivities @@@

Mummy Dogs were fast, easy, and surprisingly filling! I recommend them to any of you that have children or to any of you!! They were yummy. All you need is {1 can of crescent rolls & a package of hot dogs. You cute the crescent rolls into strips, take 1 or 2 short strips and make the hat and then 2-3 longer strips to make the bottom. Cook for 10-15 minutes and then use mustard or ketchup for the eyes. Serve with fries, apple slices, etc. They were a big hit with the family. Kudos to Kristy for the idea!! It is a tradition that has been started in the Bente House, Mummy Dogs and Pumpkin Carving!
Jayce ate a whole one by himself!
On to the Pumpkin Carving: it was a family event and we all worked really hard!

Jayce included! :0)
I made an Owl Pumpkin and Henry decided on the scary skeleton.
We decorated the Play house with the Pumpkins.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!!

Mobile Monday

There are going to be a lot of mobile Mondays, because my camera of 5 years croaked on me Saturday. I never realized how much I depend on my camera, until now. I am not being overly dramatic when I say this, but I feel like a part of me is missing. For what I love to do, a normal pocket camera is not enough for me. Every single picture will be blurry, my rug rats do not sit still for pictures, I need a camera that can keep up with them. My heart hurts right now and I am still trying to figure out a way to get my next camera and soon. Out of all the times it could do this to me, it has to be now with all the holidays coming up. Especially Halloween, this is the cutest year for the boys' costumes. {Sniff}

Enough about me and on to the boys. Here are the pictures from my phone this week:

Boys & their toys
I love Capri Suns
Shark Boy
Cookie Monster

A Preview: We went to "Pinks All Out" this past weekend, it was so much fun. For those of you who do not know "Pinks" is a show on the SPEED channel, where you race for titles or in this case money. It is one of John and Henry's favorite shows. They can watch an all day marathon and be content. When we heard they were in Houston, we bought the tickets and were ready to go. As a bonus, Stephanie's husband (Jayce's Sitter, (Stephanie, not her husband), he was a competitor and he made the show. It was fun knowing someone to cheer them on! On the down side, this is where my camera decided it no longer wanted to be apart of the family and I had to use my phone's camera. {BOO} Here is a sneak peak, I have some on my camera, I just have to put the card in my computer.
{Burn Out!!}

{Wheelie!}
{On your mark, get set, GO!}

It was so much fun and something we will be doing again. I will post more pictures and soon as I can retrieve them from my SD card and hopefully I will find a way to get a camera before Halloween, I don't want to miss out on good pictures, because the boys are going to look so adorable in their costumes. Where there is a will, there is a way... I hope.
XOXO

@@@ Hot Chocolate @@@

I love this time of year. My favorite part is a new tradition Henry and I have started. Our before bedtime cup of hot chocolate. We talk about our day and what the best part of our day was. I am a sucker for traditions and I am trying to start as many as possible with my boys. I believe this one is going to make it into my favorites. Especially, when Henry looks up at me and says "I love you Mom, you're the best mom ever!" {Sniff, tear, & smile}

He really enjoyed this little treat and I enjoyed some Henry & Mommy time. It was one of those moments that you try to memorize; a second in time that you can look back on and just remember.

*** On another note***

Jayce has really become interested in colors lately. He has so much fun, even though he ends up throwing the coloring book on the floor and coloring his tray or just taking the crayons out of the box and putting them back in; it is worth the smile on his face.
 This is becoming a ritual on Tuesdays when my wonderful Dad picks up Henry from school, so I can stay after for teaming and tutoring. **Thanks Pops**
 He now poses for pictures...
WHAT A HAM!!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY, that is Henry's favorite day of the week, because it is ice cream day at school!! Have a good weekend.

Mobile Monday

I have to give credit to a friend of mine, she does this and I thought this was a great idea. You inspired me Chelette! If you think about it, I take tons of pictures on my iPhone and I send them out to a couple of people or they just sit in my phone, so why not do a quick post every Monday with pictures from my phone. {Love it!} I did realize I have more pictures of Jayce on my phone than Henry, that is because Jayce is at that age. I will make it as even as possible.

And here we go...

One Cool Dude:
