:) ALL SMILES :)

Jayce has really come around this week and is all smiles if he isn't hungry or sleeping. He has been smiling, but it looked more like he was constipated and then finally those cheek muscles started working with him. Ha! Check it out...

Trying to smile...

There we go...

Just a happy baby...

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hanging Out

I have to say I am a little spoiled. Here I have been on maternity leave 5 weeks before school was out and wow is it easy to get around. No traffic, no busy shopping places, etc. Now that school is out, geez, it takes me an extra hour just to get errands run. I mean even the library was packed this morning, we had to drive around looking for a parking space. Okay, enough complaining!! I know I am just spoiled. The boys are doing great. Henry has really adapted to his role as big brother and does a superior job. Jayce is getting so big and is officially sleeping in his crib and on average sleeps about 4 hours at a time. Much better than every 2 hours. We have just been hanging around the house, swimming, coloring, and just enjoying being off. Here are some recent pictures of the boys!!!

My mom came out last Friday and watched Jayce so we could take Henry out on the boat. It was nice to spend time with Henry and he had a great time.

AND of course Henry cannot go a day without torturing the dog. If you look closely on Outlaw's shoulder you will see a little purple guy drawn on by marker.

That is pretty much it for now. Just enjoying my time with the kiddos and hoping it does not go to fast. Plus trying to lose the baby weight and more, but that is a different posting! Ha!!

2 Weeks Already???

I have to say my first week with the boys alone ended with success. I was nervous at the beginning and I admit Monday was a rough day and I am completely exhausted; but that is a fact that I have come to terms with. With a little bit of caffeine, anything can be achieved!!! We have just been doing a little bit each day, enough to keep Henry busy, but not overwhelming to me!!

The boys watching a movie:

Had to put Jayce in this outfit:

Finally we get to use the pool!!

Jayce took a nap poolside:

Chillin' with Daddy:

Hanging out by the pool!!

Getting ready for pre-school: what concentration???

With the 2nd week under our belt, we are definitely feeling the lack of sleep, but we know it will get better. It is still nice starting our summer early!!

Jayce Robert Bente -- April 29, 2009

Jayce made his arrival last Wednesday at 10:48 in the morning. He is perfect and so precious. He is a darker version of Henry when he was born. He is such a peaceful baby. He sleeps a lot and eats like crazy, anytime he fusses it is just because he is hungry or dirty and once we fix the problem, he is content. The c-section went well, I am still really sore, but have John home with me and he is a huge help, I am really going to miss him when he goes back to work. We love having him home with us, it has been nice having the whole family together. I will let the pictures do the talking. Thanks to everyone for visiting us in the hospital and your phone calls, we are very lucky to have friends and family who are so caring!!

Baby Jayce

Hello everyone, I wanted to give everyone an update. Though I thought, the weather being what it was last night, I was sure I was going to go into labor. I was cramping and walking, but we made it through the night. I am scheduled for my c-section at 10 tomorrow morning and I am sure I will make it till then. Tomorrow at this time Jayce should be accustomed to this world!! We are very excited and Henry is going crazy thinking that it has taken "so long" for his baby brother to make his arrival. Keep our family in your thoughts tomorrow and we will contact everyone one way or the other to let everyone know how things went. Hopefully we will be hom by Friday, but we will see what the doc says. I am very nervous, I have told people that I feel like it is almost too planned. I don't like being poked and having needles in me and stuff, so surgery is not on the top of my list. The only thing keeping me sane today is Henry and him being so silly.

XOXO
